KUC – Working With Community
KUC is a Social Enterprise that serves as a community resource centre for the population of Kirkby and the surrounding area of Knowsley.
KUC offers an integrated package of support measures that inform, advise and guide local people into jobs, education, training and business opportunities through the following measures:-
Employment & Skills – offering free, impartial and confidential career information, advice and guidance, career action planning, up to date information on a wide range of career education and training opportunities and information on grants and loans to finance career goals.
Learning Centre - The Learning Centre offers basic Maths, English & ICT training, plus free Internet access to local residents. Qualified tutors are on hand to support learners. Additionally the study centre offers more formal courses – SAGE, CLAIT and is also a UK Online Centre.
Community Legal Advice -
Offering a specialist service in Benefit and Debt Advice. This is a free, independent and confidential advice service to people living in Kirkby, the wider community of Knowsley.
Money Guidance – providing clear, impartial, general information about financial products and services. Helping you make an informed decision without recommending or selling products from a specific provider.
KUC Internet Café - offering free Internet access and low cost meals and refreshments. The Café is used as a venue space for Arts and Culture activities, and gallery space. |
