Our legal advice team offer a free, independent and confidential advice service to people living in Kirkby and the wider community of Knowsley and surrounding areas.

The Community Legal Advice Team offers a specialist service in Benefit Advice and Debt Advice.

Advice on Benefits:

  • Jobseekers Allowance
  • Employment Support Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Incapacity Benefit
  • Carers Allowance
  • Social Fund (Community Care Grants, Crisis Loans, Funeral Grants, Reviews and  applications to IRS)
  • Pensions
  • Appeals
  • Tribunal Submissions

Advice on Debt issues:

  • Priority and Non-priority debt
  • Assistance with income and expenditure
  • County Court Judgements
  • Possession Orders
  • Bailiffs
  • Administration Orders
  • Credit debts
  • Representation at court in relation to possession orders, eviction orders, individual voluntary arrangements, and Commissioners Office.

Our drop in service is open every day of the week from 10am to 1pm; clients will be given a one-to-one interview with of our qualified advisers.

Employment Law Advice:

Drop in available every Wednesday 9.30am – 12.00pm, appointments 1.00pm to 4.00pm

Our Community Legal Advice Team hold a Legal Services Commission Specialist Quality Mark in both Benefits Advice and Debt Advice

 

    Money Guidance Programme

 

KUC together with other agencies that belong to the Knowsley Advice Forum are delivering money guidance across the Borough as part of a pathfinder run by the Government and Financial Services Authority.

We provide clear, impartial, general information about financial products and services. We can help you make an informed decision without recommending or selling products from a specific provider.

Topics Money Guidance can cover:

  • Protecting and insuring the individual or family
